Earn your High School Credit in Biology at the Zoo!

Do you have a passion for animals, learning and the environment? Are you looking for an experience that's exciting, unforgettable, as well as worthwhile for your education and future career? If so, join us for Zoo School - earn your Grade 11 Biology, University Preparation (SBI3U) credit at the Toronto Zoo!

This unique learning experience engages students through an innovative combination of onsite lessons and behind-the-scenes tours combined with virtual offerings including teacher led lessons and activities. Students gain insider knowledge on the Zoo's conservation programs and career discussions with Zoo staff.

Zoo School 2022:

Zoo School operates 50% in-person and 50% virtually. This hybrid model allows for students to attend the Zoo for appropriate zoo-linked curriculum expectations while also giving them the convenience of attending teacher-led lessons from home, without the need to travel to the Zoo. The on-line portion of the course will be delivered synchronously (a teacher will be present). 

Zoo School will run from 9:00am until 3:30pm each day. Students will be expected to either be at the Zoo for those hours or logged on to the on-line platform (please see timetable below).

Zoo School will be offered in two sessions this Summer:

• Monday July 4 – Friday July 29
• Monday August 8 – Friday September 2

*In the event that Zoo School has to quarantine, wherever possible, the course will switch to a 100% online format. In this situation students would still have the opportunity to earn their credit; however, refunds will not be available.

*Please note that Zoo School requires a minimum of five students per session to operate. The Toronto Zoo reserves the right to cancel Zoo School due to insufficient student enrollment.
